Peaking Above The Rubble

Good Lord when I was complaining before the move about having way too much stuff it was confirmed when the move began!!!! Luckily, we began the move the week before the actual "BIG WEEKEND". I started the day we got the keys of the new house moving the kitchen over and putting it all together. Then I began the very careful move of all my breakables, which I have most of them up, but many still packed away in boxes waiting their turn for display.

We finally got at least one computer operational last night, hense why I am able to share my nightmare with everyone :biggrin.

Now let's see what joys have we had to endure thus far :lol

Well SBC is really starting to gripe my last nerve!!! We still haven't received the correct equipment for our wireless set up so I can not put the playroom/computer room completely together for my liking until we get that :angry.

Don't remember if I stated the nightmare with them ~ first off disconnecting one of our lines 2 weeks before they were to move it, sending us the equipment 2 weeks before they were suppose to only to find out it was the wrong equipment. So Speedbump called was told the correct equipment was on it's way and for us to return the wrong equipment ~ which we did.

So I called yesterday because it was 3 days past the day we would receive it only to find out that they have in fact received our equipment back, they have in fact charged us and not credited it as of yet, but ohhh wait, they don't see where an order was placed for the correct equipment.

Well that answers that question ~ IDIOITS!!!!!!! Now we have it ordered ~ still show no credit on our phone bill, so I'll credit myself thank you very much, and once again we are on hold.

With all the screw ups and poor customer service with Dish Network, we are now very happy with our services that are connected with Direct TV and our Tebo *however you spell it* DVR will be here next Friday. :mouse

For the rest of the move we are still slowly moving through the rubble of the house. Trying to locate items like hair brushes, toothbrushes etc ~ still haven't found them so I just went out and bought new one's. The kitchen and den area are the only rooms that even remotely look like they are put together and liveable. The rest of the house has boxes, bags and disassembled furniture lying around. Today our room got furniture put in it's correct place and bed put up. Little Ms. Prissy Princess has things in ever corner of this house and is still bugging the crap out of me about how bored she is ~ :pummel

None of my curtains work for the windows here *sniffle* however I have an idea :smile. I have some curtains that I brought with me from North Carolina when I married Speedbump that my mama had made which would look wonderful either in my den or in the playroom area ~ I have to do some price checking though on how much it will cost to get them cleaned and wait until I can afford to do that. The curtains I had in my dining room at our old house I have put them together in pieces to hang across our sliding glass door and have enough extra pieces to hang over my kitchen window. Yet for the rest of the windows it will have to be taken one room at a time or check with my mama for more hand me downs to be sent to me :biggrin.

Our bedroom closet is HUGE, however, we only have one instead of two like at the old house and well Speedbump feels neglected due to the over flow of my clothing ~ gotta love hand me downs from mama :smile. Lucikly though I'm making much use of the spare bedrooms closet also and about to start weeding things out for either a garage sale and/or to Goodwill....probably Goodwill since garage sale means putting forth more work than we are already doing at the moment.

Poor Speed is just whipped ~ he moved most of our items with the help of two teenager boys, what little help I could be due to my health and one day his brother, but for the majoritiy of it Speedbump loaded and unloaded everything. Our garage looks like when it snows and people shovel off the top and an entry to get in the vehicle ~ well our garage looks that way right now with just enough space to get my van in there.

As you can tell we are far from done but at least slowly getting there ~ I'll send photo's once I get rooms in order and presentable for viewing :smile.

Hope everyone is doing well and I'll post again when time allows ~ well I'm off to do more unpacking ~ tootles

Ohhh wait, for those who remember the saga about the "fish" before Speedbump and I got married I must report to you, the "fish" has found itself a new home INSIDE the house this go round........:lol

Wo... isn't moving so much fun?! ;) Sounds like fun getting the windows covered... I did a bit of looking at window coverings recently too.. for the newly painted front room, but kept the covers that I had for the other windows from before the painting.

Looking forward to the photos! Take your time though, de-stress and enjoy the rest of the settling in time. :)

Gawd... I don't envy you! I agree with you on switching from Dish Network to DirecTV. Best move we ever made!

I'll holler at ya tomorrow or Monday. Bad week we've got coming up.
