The Woes Of Moving

A smooth transaction this has not been to date and we aren't even half way done yet :cry. So while I sit and enjoy a cup of :coffee I figured I'd jot down some of the mishaps thus far :smile.

Monday, is the official day of signing the last of the papers on the house and getting the keys. Before heading out to the bank I diligently double check all my figures and my balance online. Okay so far so good things are running right on track. Speedbump and I get to the bank and I go and tell them I need a cashier's check for a certain amount of money, no problem right ~ well they were training a girl that day and she added an extra zero into the requested amount ~ she quickly looks for her trainer who looks at the screen and says to me "Ms. Jet, I'm sorry but you are overdrawn". Speedbump quickly rushes to my side as he sees the look on my face as I yell "I'm WHAT ~ that isn't possible"!!! His eyes grow very large as he is looking at his computer screen and says "ohh wait wait let me check". He then says "Ohhhh, okay, looks at his trainee and tells her to go ahead and process the cashier's check".

Now does he really think he is going to get off the hook with me that easily???? :errrr So I quickly ask him, well what was the problem, that is when he informed me that my account showed it was THOUSANDS of DOLLARS overdrawn. I almost passed out on the spot and said HOW ON EARTH did that happen???? That is when I was informed that the new girl added an extra zero and that he'd fix the mistake immediately.

Okay one fire taken care of and fixed or so I thought ~ 24 hours later and a phone called made to the bank in a not so friendly manner on my side the mistake was finally fixed. However for that 24 hour period the rest of my money was held up and untouchable which luckily I had a little cash on me but not enough for the next event :angry.

Speedbump and I leave the bank and finish running the last minute items like getting the water turned on at the new house, a utility I completely forgot about. It is during this time that I call my son on his phone line only to find out that it had been disconnected. :wtf

I get home and call the phone company after about an hour of being on hold, switched from one department to the next, I finally am told that they transfered his phone over to the new house on the 8th of the month and since there was already and active phone on that day they just disconnected his number. Again :wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, I get all that taken care of and order changed to transfer his phone on the same day as the main line only for Speedbump to come in and inform me his car had died. :fdup A neighborhood friend comes over and they dink around on the car for a little bit only to find out it is the starter or else they believe it is right now. Remember that little issue with the bank ~ well of course it had not been fixed at this time so purchasing the starter was out of the question.

So it is about now that rather it is time or not :cocktails are being served!!! We head over to the new house to finalize everything only to find out that a box had already arrived for us at this address in reference to our computer stuff. No big deal until Speedbump opens it up and finds out that they have not sent the right equipment!!! We are going wireless DSL at the new house and they didn't send us all the needed equipment ~ by this time I'm ready to rumble with someone at the phone company ~ but since computer issues are Speedbump's job I'll let him handle it.

Now we are on Tuesday, which I spend the day packing up more of the house, but unable to transport anything until Speedbump gets home since we are down to one vehicle at the moment. Things are going semi smoothly UNTIL I hear Little Ms. Prissy Princess begin to scream bloody murder from my room.

Nothing major really except in her eyes ~ they shut off the satellite a WEEK early right during her favorite cartoon. So I get on the phone with them only to find out I can have it turned back on at this house but then I would have to forfeit the date I already have on the books for hook up over at the other house :pummel Well I'm not going to do that because it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get someone out there.

The only positive thing thus far is that most of my kitchen has been moved to the new house and put away and for those who have been in my kitchen know that is not an easy task :smile. Tonight, more of this house is to be moved over there when Speedbump gets home. Our best laid plans of me doing several runs during the day and then major runs at night when he is home has been shot for already written reasons.

So here we are on Wed and I have more packing to do and Little Ms Prissy Princess is having a melt down due to the upcoming change in her life. She is excited about the new room and playroom but not so sure about how all this works. She is terrified we are not going to be able to move her bed and she says she will not leave this house without her bed. And since I haven't even begun to pack up her room she is freaking out about that not understanding that I'm trying to do her a favor leaving her things in place until the last possible moment to make it easier on her.

Please note I have not even begun on how the dogs are reacting to all this because that is an even larger mess ~ lets just say they are not pleased at events they are seeing going on so tempers are running high between the three of them.

Ahhhh the joys of moving :shakehead

Ahhh.....I so remember that! We moved into my parents house for 3 months while waiting for ours to be vacated. With a 7 year old and a 2 week old. Fun times!

The joys of moving......NOT! I bet the dogs are just crazy with everything being packed up.. Tell my foxy dog, Chance, that everything is gonna be okay!

I hope miss Priss figures things out soon. Good luck with the rest of moving!

Jamie . . .HELP! I'm not getting any mail from the list and I've found out that I've been unsubscribed . . .

Am I nuts, losing my mind, or have I offended someone and been unsubscribed purposely? This was the only way that I knew how to get in touch with you . . .

Please help!
